Your Role

We're looking for a digital savvy communications professional to join our busy communication and marketing team - and there's never been a better time to join us! There's a real buzz about Stockport at the moment; we've got ambitious plans to transform our town centre, we've had accolades such as the Times newspapers top place to live and we're currently Greater Manchester Town of Culture.

We're looking for someone who can spot opportunities to create exciting content to showcase the vital services we provide our residents and share all the good work going on across the council and the borough. You'll be familiar with using social media tools such as Orlo and Canva (or similar) and ideally have photoshop/design skills so you can create good quality engaging content.

About You

The role is varied - a typical day could cover:

• creating and upload customer focused content onto our digital channels for campaigns and work programmes.

• monitoring and evaluating our social media channels producing reports for senior management

• advising colleagues on the right channel for the target audience for digital campaigns based on insight and research

• supporting senior management with digital communications campaigns and e-newsletters

• assisting with the production of our Council publications, both online and in print

• making sure our content and messaging fits in with our tone of voice and brand guidelines

• forming part of our weekend out of hours on-call communications rota

We work flexibly both from home and in our office. We really value face to face time so you'll be required to come in the office 2/3 days a week for key meetings.
