Spectrum Brands is actively seeking a Mid-weight Digital Graphic Designer to join the dynamic Global Digital Content team, dedicated to our renowned Remington, Russell Hobbs, and George Foreman appliance brands. As a vital member of the in-house digital design team, you'll collaborate closely with the Digital Production Manager, contributing to the creation of compelling online content across diverse markets.

In this role, your primary responsibilities include collaborating with the Global digital content team to brainstorm and execute creative briefs. Your creative flair will be crucial in bringing our brands to life through original and engaging multichannel content. This involves creating and updating digital assets, graphics, and banners for our websites, as well as crafting effective email campaigns and supporting all social media channels with visually appealing assets.
As a support to the digital output, you will play a key role in brand guardianship, ensuring that all online collateral aligns with the brands' values and visual aesthetic. Additionally, you'll be involved in creating online assets to support brand campaigns, seasonal initiatives, and product launches. Your role extends to artworking designs, re-working for international copy translations, and designing artwork to support online retailers.
Your diverse skill set should encompass photography retouching and video editing, as well as staying updated with digital and marketing trends to contribute ideas for site improvements during project ideation phases. Flexibility is a key attribute, and you may be required to undertake various tasks as needed. Full training on in-house systems, including PC-based project support software such as PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Word, will be provided.
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 2 years of design experience on similar projects and demonstrate a working knowledge of Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Premier Pro and/or After Effects. Your ability to create visual concepts using computer software is crucial, aiming to inspire, inform, and captivate consumers. Attention to accuracy and excellent detail is a key attribute, coupled with an eagerness to learn and adapt to the fast-paced social media and advertising industry.
Furthermore, candidates should display strong digital graphic design skills, substantiated by a compelling portfolio. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team is essential, underlining a positive and proactive attitude toward project work. Effective time management and prioritisation skills are expected, along with a commitment to the organisation and maintenance of digital files and designs across project scopes.
In addition to the essential qualifications, desirable attributes include being a highly creative and commercially minded designer with an eye for beautiful design, dedicated to creating an outstanding online customer experience. Experience in UX/UI design and usability best practices is valued, showcasing resourcefulness and independence in meeting deadlines and standards.
The candidate should possess a strong understanding of digital best practices, coupled with creative problem-solving skills. A keen interest in staying updated with industry trends in digital design/ecommerce is highly advantageous, along with knowledge of web development frameworks and content management systems.
Proficiency in using Adobe software packages, experience in creating Digital banners in Google Web Designer and Adobe Animate, and a self-learning ability with quick adaptation to new tools in a fast-evolving environment are also desirable qualities.
