Digital Product Executive - Hobbycraft Head Office, BH23 6HG

Salary up to £35,000 DOE, 4% pension contributions, 25 days holiday increasing every year, 25% discount in our stores, hybrid working policy, dog friendly office and so much more!

Full Time – 37.5 hours.

Our core business working hours are Monday to Friday – 9am to 5pm and we are very flexible with starting and finishing times, we also offer hybrid working 2 days a week.

About the Role

Reporting to the Digital Product Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to join the Digital Experience team at the UK’s leading arts and crafts retailer. You will be accountable for the delivery of the experimentation roadmap and qualitative user insights, championing the use of data and be at the heart of the continuous improvement of our customer journeys and ultimately driving tangible incremental revenue. You will use your natural empathy for customers and data interpretation skills to define high value experiments as well as expanding our testing velocity. Responsibilities

  • Play a key support role to the Digital Product Manager (DPM) across all aspects of the roadmap definition and backlog delivery of new features for both the web site and app, working with the IT Team and 3rd parties.
  • Play a key role as part of the Digital Product Team, to interpret deep dive customer data and qualitative customer insights to identify opportunities for new features and experiences.
  • Support the DPM in defining the product roadmap for site and apps
  • Play a key role in writing user stories for new features, capturing comprehensive and detailed requirements and acceptance criteria, collaborating with specialists across the business, e.g. IT and Business Analysts
  • Carry out product analysis to understand impact of change and level of effort for new features to inform the backlog prioritisation, working with the Digital Analyst as required
  • Support on the sprint cycle for site and app across all agile ceremonies, e.g. refinement, daily stand ups and sprint reviews
  • Support on product and change quality by writing test cases for user stories, ensuring coverage across all relevant device types and user scenarios
  • Coordinate and execute the user acceptance testing of all sprint releases across unit testing of features and full product regression testing, ensuring test resource are working to a test plan and completing on schedule
  • Support on identifying change requirements to business reporting and analytics platforms and define, deliver and test datalayer, tagging and reporting changes
  • Support on business readiness for product updates and business change, ensuring that new features are fit for purpose for both customer and business user, with full process updates, training delivered and stakeholder communications
  • Support and play a key role in larger scale, strategic digital projects across the key disciplines above
  • Support the DPM in briefing UX and UI designers to deliver comprehensive visual designs as part of the requirements and as a key artefact for front end developer


About You


  • Essential minimum 1 year experience working in either a B2C ecommerce environment, Digital Product Team, a Digital Optimisation Team or User Experience Team
  • Essential thorough approach with strong attention to detail and analytical thinker
  • Desirable experience of the agile methodology and working within a scrum team
  • Desirable experience of Google Analyics, Google Tag Manager and Jira
  • Desirable experience of digital systems and architecture
  • Strong empathy for human user needs and mindset.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and able to clearly and accurately articulate comprehensive and detailed requirements.
  • Proactive approach with constant desire to deliver a better customer experience and commercial results.
  • A strong team player and communicator; able to work effectively with employees and stakeholders at all levels.
  • A self-starter, who can hit deadlines, be hands-on and get things done.
