We have an opportunity within HSBC Asset Management for an Analyst, Portfolio Monitoring & FX Risk – Private Credit.

The purpose of the role is to support the Private Credit teams (covering both the Direct Lending and Infrastructure asset classes) in monitoring borrower performance, producing investor reporting for all clients and assisting with the management of FX exposures and liquidity management. This role will support both the Portfolio Monitoring Manager and Hedging Specialist in ensuring that the portfolios of investments are monitored and managed appropriately.

As this role is regulated the successful candidate will be required to gain the required qualification if they are not already a Certified / Regulated person.

In this role you will:

You will work across 2 distinct areas of FX Hedging Support and Borrower Monitoring

FX Hedging Support

  • Have input into the execution of day-to-day FX trading, monitor hedging ratios, manage rolling cycles and Test hedge effectiveness.
  • Assist with liquidity management, income distribution and clients onboarding from FX hedging perspective.
  • Participate in negotiation and ongoing maintenance of the subscription lines

Borrower Monitoring

  • Alert investment teams to relevant news and market events enabling the team to react or craft communications to investors / Private Credit Forums this also includes regular contact with investee companies and ensuring key issues/watchlist assets are monitored adequately.
  • Assist with various tasks related to data/analysis to complete fundraising efforts, compiling quarterly reports, stress testing and other process reviews.
  • Collect, review, and analyse borrower financial statements, covenant packages, and management reports.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following:

  • Solid understanding of credit analysis, financial statement interpretation and general investment structures is essential
  • Have a strong commercial awareness gained from working as an analyst based on well-developed quantitative and qualitative analysis skills and used to working with complex financial data is essential.
  • High level of communication skill to be able to work with various forms of info to produce easily digestible reports and presentations is essential.
  • Possess excellent stakeholder management skills, coupled with a professional confidence that engender the view of a ‘Trusted Partner’ across a varied internal and external audience is essential.
  • Demonstrate really good time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to managing multiple tasks often with conflicting priorities is essential.

This role is based at HSBC Office in London and has a hybrid working pattern
