Salary range: £58,461 - £61,653 p.a. inc. London weighting
Contract: Fixed term/Secondment - 9-12 months
Hours of work: 36 hours per week

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here. The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us. The Post

This is your opportunity to lead a high-profile, time-bound project that will repair, standardise, and future-proof Brent’s fixed asset register and other data sources - ensuring our property data is accurate, auditable, and ready to support major valuation and financial reporting requirements.

You will be at the heart of a cross-departmental team, bringing together property, finance, GIS, and audit colleagues to build a single source of truth for all council land and buildings. It’s a rare chance to shape systems and processes that make a real, lasting impact on how we use public assets.

You will lead and deliver a focused asset data remediation and valuation-readiness programme. You will be responsible for standardising and reconciling data from property, GIS, and finance systems to produce clean, auditable information. The role involves collaborating with finance, audit, and external valuers to ensure robust annual valuations, including designing and embedding policies, workflows, and controls that keep our data accurate and reliable, managing and mentoring an apprentice, supporting their development as part of the project, and manage external specialists and overseeing the implementation of data solutions to support asset data improvement and valuation processes.

The Person

We are looking for an organised, analytical, and driven professional who thrives on making sense of complex data challenges. You’ll bring the technical know-how to manage large datasets - and the communication skills to build strong working relationships across teams and service areas and making change happen.

You will have experience leading asset, finance, or data improvement projects in a complex organisation, strong data management skills (Excel, Power Query, or SQL) and an eye for detail, familiarity with property systems (CAFM, GIS/LLPG) and local authority asset registers, knowledge of CIPFA, RICS Red Book, or IFRS standards is an advantage, and a confident, proactive approach - and a passion for improving how data drives decisions.
