At B&Q we operate a hybrid work environment to increase flexibility in where and when we work, for this role we are looking for someone able to work from our head office 2-3 days a week. This is a full-time opportunity, Monday - Friday.

What's the job?

Our Finance Pathway Programme is a 36 month programme, to support gaining a professional Finance qualification (ACCA or CIMA). Alongside this, you will gain relevant work experience, rotating roles around our Finance department, as well as essential skills & behaviours training. There will be plenty of support along the way in the shape of your development from your peer group, line manager and mentor.

We are looking for driven individuals to join B&Q, the UK’s leading home improvement retailer, which is part of the Kingfisher group. You’ll be joining a fast paced, exciting finance team with a fantastic opportunity of future career development

You will develop skills in areas such as:

  • Budgeting for key business functions
  • Forecasting cashflow
  • Statutory reporting
  • Performance analysis
  • Project appraisal
  • Core accounting in our operational team
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Communicating with a variety of stakeholders
  • Supporting in high profile presentations to senior manager

What we need:

  • Self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • Team player - builds strong relationships with peers and stakeholders
  • Ability to produce high quality work under pressure

  • Naturally curious – asks thoughtful questions and actively seeks to understand “why”
  • Beneficial to have experience using Excel, PowerPoint, and AI tools (e.g. Power BI)
