Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
About the role:
The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a dedicated and skilled Band 4 Pharmacy Technician to join our team in London. As a Band 4 Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the outpatient pharmacy. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist and be responsible for preparing and dispensing medications, providing advice to patients, and ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
You will take in, label, dispense, and hand out prescriptions. You will check received medications and feed the robot. You will offer advice on how to best manage their medicines, including potential side effects. You will liaise with other departments and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care. You will supervise and train other pharmacy staff, such as pharmacy assistants and trainees. You will maintain accurate records of patients’ medication histories and ensure confidentiality. You will participate in clinical governance and continuing professional development (CPD) activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience/Knowledge:
- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacy technician.
- Experience working within Hospital Pharmacy.
- Skills/Abilities:
- Ideally, knowledge of PTS5, JAC, and Cerner
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Good organizational skills to manage workload and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
