Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled Locum Dietitian to join the team in London for a full-time, onsite position. The role will involve cross-cover across both surgical and medical wards, so experience with nutrition support is essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing patients with complex nutritional needs across a variety of medical conditions. This is a 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension, and the position requires someone who can commit to the full contract duration. The role is based at a hospital in Barnet, and applicants should ideally be located within a reasonable commuting distance.
Responsibilities:
As a Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition support to patients across both surgical and medical wards. This includes performing nutritional assessments, developing care plans, and providing dietary advice to patients with a range of conditions. You will also manage and monitor the implementation of enteral feeding and parenteral nutrition where required, as well as provide support to patients with nutritional deficiencies and other complex dietary needs. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care. Additionally, you will maintain accurate patient records in line with hospital protocols.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Dietetics or equivalent
- HCPC registration as a Dietitian
- Experience working in medical and surgical wards
- Strong background in nutrition support, including enteral feeding and parenteral nutrition
- Ability to assess and manage patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Previous NHS experience is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure
