What is a Marketing Automation Manager?

A Marketing Automation Manager manages the ideation, execution, and measurement of different aspects of marketing automation. This management is across modern marketing software such as Saleforce Pardot, Hubspot as examples. This work entails email marketing, lead generation and nurturing, lead scoring, and analytics. This work then feeds into digital work and wider implementation work such as on landing pages, social media marketing, collaborating with the CRM software, and so on. A Marketing Automation Management role requires that you have both creative and analytical attributes.

    We are searching for a Marketing Automation Manager to drive significant growth in our business. The business is looking to improve awareness, sales, and expansion of our products and services. In this role, we require you to work with our team to determine key pain points, bottlenecks, and future opportunities for our business. You will devise, implement, and execute initiatives and strategies to grow our brand's market share and customer base. In this role, you will own the marketing technology stack and work closely with the relevant departments such as marketing, sales, product, and data teams to plan and deliver ideas that drive customer acquisition, solution adoption, and customer retention. 

    To ensure success as a Marketing Automation Manager, you should be skilled at lead generation and demand generation across a range of channels. You will be innovative, passionate about our business, and an expert at executing strategies for business growth. With a strong understanding of marketing technology, you'll help turn the specific business requirements into reality, so all teams have the technology and insights they need to continuously improve customer acquisition, profitability and customer experience.

    Marketing Automation Manager Responsibilities:

    • MarTech - research, manage and deliver the marketing technology stack to provide the infrastructure to our marketing and customer acquisition teams, from introduction through to day operations and troubleshooting
    • Stakeholder Management - collaborate with a variety of stakeholders from across the business to identify opportunities for marketing technology to reduce costs, increase sales and improve efficiencies
    • Strategy - set the short and long-term vision for every stage of the customer lifecycle, developing a strategy and roadmap to deliver the vision
    • Data - ensure that marketing data is kept in line with company privacy and data management policies
    • Journey Optimisation - continually improve our customer journeys through work with data relevant data teams to analyse the effectiveness of customer acquisition and retention campaigns and the impact they have on end-to-end customer experience
    • Collaboration - train and upskill the marketing team, develop governance and use best practice methods and to ensure successful delivery of email marketing campaigns

    Marketing Automation Manager Requirements:

    • Experience in marketing automation or a wider digital marketing role within a similar business
    • Experience in setting up automated campaigns in Marketo, Pardot, Hubspot or similar marketing automation platforms
    • Experience in implementing web tracking technologies (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Snowflake etc)
    • Expertise in translating complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders
    • Knowledge of GDPR, PECR and other relevant privacy regulations
